Enjoy the Shopping Right Across The County
While Norwich, as the capital of Norfolk, is renowned for its shopping, you can also enjoy some great retail therapy right across the county without too much difficulty.
Norwich has two shopping malls packed with fabulous shops and it has a great choice of numerous high street shops as well as independent stores down some of the narrow alleys. Pop inside some of them and you’ll see what a wonderful range of items they sell. In addition, the centre of the city is dominated by the multi-coloured awnings of the main market, which lies in the shadow of the 1930s City Hall. Wander up and down the rows of stalls and admire the wares and foodstuffs on sale.
There are a number of good Norfolk hotels in and around the city and some of the better known Norfolk luxury hotels are not too far away.
Yet if you are staying in one of the North Norfolk hotels, you won’t have to travel too far for some great shopping.
The Georgian town of Holt, for example, has many independent shops with a distinctive style as well as its very own department store along with some great pubs, cafes and restaurants.
There are good shops in most of Norfolk’s market town’s and coastal resorts but the real pleasure of shopping in the county is discovering small independent stalls and boutiques in some of the coastal spots. In addition to that, Norfolk is famed for its markets, particularly local farmers’ markets where you can pick up some fabulous traditional produce to take home with you as a memory of your stay in the county. You will probably find that staff from many of the hotels North Norfolk is known for will pick up produce for the kitchens from some of the local markets and suppliers.
Wherever you go across the county, you will find something of interest and many of the more intriguing shops can be found in some of the villages such as Burnham Market or in the back streets of resorts such as Cromer, Hunstanton or Sheringham.
Spend an afternoon wandering around and browsing. You’ll find it a fascinating experience.
